Access your super the smart way
If you have more than $10,000 in super and you are eligible to withdraw it, transferring your super to TransPension and accessing your super as income can be a smart, tax effective option.
As a TransPension member, once you turn 60, income and lump sum payments are tax-free and withdrawing super through TransPension rather than cashing it all in at once, may provide you access to greater Government benefits.
TransPension has low fees and charges, and is regarded as a good value for money Australian pension product*.
As a division of TWUSUPER, TransPension is run only to benefit members and all profits are returned to members, not shareholders.
Membership is open to everyone, even your spouse, and with TransPension you have the security of being with an established fund with over 130,000 members and $2.7 billion in assets as at 30 June 2011.
TransPension is flexible and offers two pension options. As a member you can elect to:
- After turning age 55, continue to work part time or full time and receive regular tax effective pension payments from a Transition to Retirement Pension. At the same time, you can choose to top up your super via salary sacrifice. You choose the frequency of payment and regular income amount you want to receive (within minimum Government limits up to a maximum 10% of the account balance). Lump sum withdrawals are limited.
- On permanent retirement, choose the level and frequency of regular income you want to receive (within broad minimum Government limits), while still being able to make lump sum withdrawals via an Account Based Pension.
TransPension provides competitive investment returns, easy to understand investment options and investment returns are tax-free.
You continue to have access to great services such as dedicated, on call, Client Relations Officers, access to licensed, affordable, commission-free financial advice, and low cost banking through ME Bank.
