Personal information
The personal information of members that TWUSUPER collects is used to:
- Administer and correspond with you in relation to your super account
- process applications and requests
- Pay your benefits
- Conduct research about how to improve TWUSUPER's services and products.
TWUSUPER may arrange for a service provider to cross-match your personal details with other superannuation funds to help locate any other superannuation accounts in your name.
If you choose not to give us your personal information, or provide us with incomplete or inaccurate personal information, we may not be able to provide you with all of the benefits of TWUSUPER and may not be able to process your claim or pay a benefit.
Unless required or authorised by law, we will only provide your personal information to authorised service providers, such as the insurer or the Fund’s administrator, who use the information to administer members’ accounts and provide services to members as well as to process member claims and pay any benefits.
You are able to gain access to your personal information by asking for it. If you would like to request access to the personal information we hold about you, or want further information on how we handle personal information, please contact the Trustee (TWU Nominees Pty Ltd) at the address on this form or by contacting the Customer Service Team on 1800 222 071.
Direct marketing
From time-to-time, TWUSUPER may send members and participating employers communication material, also known as direct marketing material (including marketing material by third parties), about special offers and promotions that are available only to members and participating employers of TWUSUPER. If you do not want TWUSUPER to use your personal information to send you direct marketing material, please contact the Customer Service Team on 1800 222 071.
Collecting personal information via the internet
TWUSUPER collects personal information when members and employers use the TWUSUPER website to lodge forms, such as Membership applications and Change member details forms, or if members and employers send TWUSUPER documents containing personal information. Employers may provide TWUSUPER with personal information about their employees.
Risks of using the internet
There are security risks in transmitting information via the internet. You should assess these potential risks when deciding whether to use our on-line services. If you do not wish to transmit information via the TWUSUPER website, there are other ways in which you can provide this information, such as by mail, telephone or an on-site visit.
Collection of browsing information
When you browse TWUSUPER’s website, our service provider logs the following information for statistical purposes:
- Your server address
- Top level domain name (e.g. .com, .gov, .au, etc)
- The date and time of your website visit
- The pages you looked at
- The documents you downloaded
- The previous site that you visited
- The type of browser that you use.
We will not try to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the service provider’s logs.
The TWUSUPER website is “cookie” free, which means that we will not use information obtained from your browsing activities to send you any unsolicited information.
We will only record your e-mail address if you send us a message or if you provide it to us. We will not add it to a mailing list without your consent.
